What’s new for 2024?

Good question! Here’s a sneak peek…
An international guest brewer
A dedicated non-alc bar
A pop-up tattoo studio
Silent disco
Hot Dog Comp on the main stage
And heaps more!

What does my festival ticket include?

10 hours of live music, a choice of more than 50 beers on tap from incredible brewers including a special international guest brewer, good vibes, local produce, and a branded, reusable festival cup.

Is Darker Days child-friendly?

Children of all ages are welcome at Darker Days, and reduced ticket prices are available. All children must be accompanied by an adult and require a ticket. There will be some kids’ entertainment during the day. However, this is largely a beer and live music festival, and it is likely to be loud and crowded, with open fires, so parental discretion is advised.

Why do I need to pay for my child? They don’t drink beer!

Kids are welcome to attend Darker Days, however, we operate under a very strict capacity due to our limited space. So we require all festival-goers to have a ticket, regardless of age. There will be entertainment for kids throughout the day.

I don’t drink beer/alcohol – do I have to pay full price?

In short – yes. Your ticket price covers the whole event, including 10+ hours of live music and festivities. Non-alcoholic drinks are available, including a Non-Alc Bar.

Who is playing?

The full line-up will be announced on April 18. But rest assured, after the calibre of our previous headline artists, you won’t be disappointed!

What breweries will be there?

Darker Days welcomes guest brewers from all over Australia to pour their latest and greatest brews for beer-loving festival-goers. This year, Bright will be joined by some of the biggest names in Australian brewing, plus a special international guest brewer! Stay tuned for the full announcement on April 11.

Does Bright have Uber? How can I get home from the festival?

Unfortunately, there is no Uber or taxis in Bright (#countrylife!), however, we are putting on our After Dark Shuttle Bus to help get you home. If you’re planning to make a night of it and are not staying directly in Bright, take advantage of the buses. These are $15pp and need to be booked in advance. Buses will leave immediately after the festival end, and will travel to:
Porepunkah/Ovens/Myrtleford/Wangaratta
Wandi/Freeburgh/Smoko/Harrietville

What should I wear?

There’s no such thing as being cold and wet, only underprepared. So wear something warm and waterproof! It is Winter in the Alpine, after all. Think rainjackets, puffer jackets, gumboots and a beanie!

Is the event undercover?

Yes and no. We have 2 large marquees for vendors and guests to enjoy, however, there is also plenty of open-air space on the festival grounds.

Will the festival be cancelled if the weather is bad?

No! You have to have nerves of steel to run a midwinter festival in the mountains and we prepare for all kinds of weather. We have two huge marquees, and plenty of undercover space, so Darker Days will proceed – no matter the weather*.
*Pending some unforeseen natural disaster or weather event!

Can I bring my dog?

Sadly not. We LOVE doggos here at Bright Brewery, however, we don’t feel a live music festival with open fires and lots of people is the safest place for them. This goes for all pets / non-human companions. Service animals are, of course, welcome.

How do I pay for things?

With a credit or EFTPOS card, a smartphone or a smartwatch. Darker Days is a CASHLESS event*. Yes, we understand that cash is legal tender but we are exercising our discretion not to use it at this festival. Please understand our decision to keep things simple, quick and easy.
* Our guest food vendors may choose to accept cash at their discretion. Alcohol and tickets = card only.

Can I BYO food and drinks?

No. We will have onsite vendors for both and we’d love you to support them.

What if I lose my festival cup?

There will be NO single-use cups at Darker Days. All drinks must be served in branded festival cups. If you lose your cup, you’ll need to buy another one at festival entry.

What if I lose my wristband?

Once you show your ticket and enter the festival, your wristband is your proof of entry. You will need to show your wristband in order to be served. So if you lose your wristband, you will need to purchase another. Wristbands will not be replaced.

Can I leave the festival and come back again?

Sure – as long as you still have your wristband, you can come and go as you please.

Should I bring paper or digital tickets to the event?

Either! A digital ticket on your phone is preferred, so we can scan it. So save the earth and go paperless!
